From Moscow or as you wish
Winter is coming. You’ve probably heard it. According to tradition, we will bask in Southeast Asia. We will post classic tickets with departure there in the fall and return in the spring later, but for now here is a guide to carelessness, a miracle yudo-fish-whale-and-shrimp, an assembly that includes 14 countries, and at the same time imagination.
I want to sit down and come up with something like this for the winter too. Do you want to? Come up with something.
Dates can be changed to suit yourself, all countries, and even more so cities, can be safely moved in places or crossed out. All the moves below are just an example of how it happens and the admin’s sick fantasy. Prices are relevant at the moment — in many directions, it makes sense to wait for sales (yes, the assembly will be even cheaper), some tickets are slightly cheaper to take on airline websites, tickets for buses, trains, boats will sometimes also be cheaper on the spot. Therefore, the final price should not scare you.
In addition, our assembly does not include boring Jakarta — Bangkok — Kuala Lumpur — Manila, but the islands of Palawan, Borneo, Boracay, Penang, Myanmar, Laos and what not. It seems as if the excuses have begun. We’re finishing the excuses.
We will start in early November, but you can at least tomorrow.
Step 1. We are flying to Hong Kong
If desired, you can stay in Beijing for a maximum of 144 hours. There is no desire to stay in Beijing in November for 144 hours, but you can tolerate a day, especially since you can take a sheepskin coat with you in your luggage.
Moscow — Beijing, November 8 + Beijing — Hong Kong— November 10
We spend the night in Hong Kong as long as we want, but no more than 14 days. We divide these few days into Hong Kong and Macau (Hong Kong, of course, 83% of the time, and Macau 17%).
Step 2. Hong Kong — Macau by ferry or bus for 1500-2000 rubles. We lose a fur coat in one of the casinos in Macau and then fly light.
ATTENTION: if you are worried about the sheepskin coat, then see Step 28. Thank you for your attention!
Step 3. Direct and beautiful flight to the Philippines
November 14th
We live and survive in Manila for a day or two and move to the islands. Choose any one, we don’t mind.
Step 4. Manila — Kalibo (closer to Boracay Island)
November 16
Step 5. Caticlan Cebu
November 27
Step 6. Cebu — Puerto Princesa (Palawan)
November 28
Step 7. Puerto Princesa — Manila
I will have to return to Manila for a short time to immediately fly far away.
December 10th
Step 8. Manila — Bandar Seri Begawan (Brunei)
There’s nothing to do with the word in Brunei at all, but we’re here to collect ticks and stamps, aren’t we?
December 10th
Step 9-10. Brunei — Labuan — Kota Kinabalu
A boat from Brunei to Labuan Island is inexpensive (I don’t remember exactly how much). It is not necessary to spend the night on Labuan, you can immediately take a boat to Kota Kinabalu or to the nearest village and from there to KK by bus. You will get your bearings at the station. Well, let’s put 2,750 rubles on this case, although it will probably come out 2,250, or even less.
About like this and even better
Kota Kinabalu, Sandakan, Tawau, Kudat — this is Sabah, this is Kalimantan, this is Borneo, and these are your plans for the next few days. Monkeys, parks, mountains, trails are waiting.
Step 11. Kota Kinabalu — Bali direct flight for almost free
December 18
A logical turnaround before the New Year. Are we celebrating the New Year in Bali?
Well, we met and we met. It’s time to move on.
Oh, no, wait. Let’s calculate the cost of transportation in November-December. Calculated: 42800 rubles for Beijing, Hong Kong, Macau, Boracay, Palawan, Labuan, Brunei, Borneo and Bali. The norm.
Step 12. Bali — Singapore — Penang
January 8 (on the way a day to Singapore — without visas)
We are in Penang! We’re enjoying it.
Step 13. Penang — Ipoh — Kuala Lumpur
You can fly a direct flight to KL for 1000-1500, or you can ride on the ground by bus-trains, catching something along the way, for example.
+
it will be slightly cheaper at the checkout. From KL, you can (need to) drive to Malacca and back. Malacca is cool.
Step 14. Kuala Lumpur — Yangon
January 16
Step 15. Yangon — Mandalay — Yangon
With Myanmar, everything is still not thank God. The land borders have not really opened, there are relatively cheap tickets only to Yangon, so you will have to make a circle and return back.
We’ll put on buses (trains hardly run) well, 4000 rubles (or have they gone completely berserk there?)
Step 16. Yangon — Bangkok
January 23
We are aware that 5,600 rubles per hour of flight from Myanmar is a so-so price, but it is not a fact that the land borders will be fully opened in 2025. We are preparing for the worst, hoping for the best.
Right now, only the checkpoint «Ranong — Kodaun » is open with a caveat: they don’t seem to let you further into the country. Of course: Myanmar can be crossed out until better times, but if you are interested in another country in limbo (and another stamp in your passport), well done.
It’s already the end of January, and we haven’t really been to Cambodia, Vietnam, Thailand and Laos yet. Bullshit question, we’re catching up. But first, let’s come to our senses after Myanmar. In Phuket, Krabi or wherever you want — tickets in Thailand are cheap.
Step 17. Bangkok — Phuket — Bangkok
January 29th — February 5th
Step 18. Bangkok — Pattaya
We take the bus to Pattaya. How much are they asking for? 350 rubles?
Step 19. Pattaya — Chiang Mai
February 15th
Step 20. Chiang Mai — Chiang Rai — Huaisai
A simple road to Laos is approximately along this route on this bus for a cheap price.
Next we’ll do it beautifully.
Step 21. Huaisai — Pekbang — Luang Prabang on a slow boat for about 1,500 rubles. Here on such a:
It will take two days to sail: first 8 hours to Pekbang, then overnight there, and then the next day another 8 hours to Luang Prabang. Conditions? Well, it’s a little worse than on modern Valdai Meteors along the Volga, but an observation deck is available.
Step 22. Luang Prabang — Vientiane
By bus, high-speed train or plane — for 1500-2000 rubles.
Step 23. Vientiane — Phnom Penh (any date; let’s say February 22nd)
You can, of course, inexpensively return from Vientiane to Thailand in the Udon Thani area, but we have already been to Thailand and that’s enough.
We are flying such a crooked and tricky flight of Vietnamese Airlines on the route Vientiane — Phnom Penh — Ho Chi Minh City for 6,600 rubles (with a Russian card for 7,200 rubles)
There is a technical stop in Cambodia on the way. In theory, they should be released, because they sell a ticket separately to Phnom Penh (pay attention to the price).
We show the visa and leave.
Step 24. Phnom Penh — Siem Reap — Sihanoukville (you can do without it) and whatever you want.
Fortunately, Air Asia has started flying in Cambodia, a good alternative to buses. We are laying 3,000 rubles for moving.
Step 25. From Cambodia to Vietnam
If you are already sick, you can bus for 2000 rubles
If you are not fucked up (no?!) — we are sailing by boat from Phnom Penh to the Vietnamese Chau Dock. Tickets for 3200 rubles here
Step 26. Chau Dok — Kantho (or Ratja or Ho Chi Minh City)
Further as you want: you can go to Ratja and from there by ferry to Phu Quoc (from 2000 rubles), you can go through Kantho to Ho Chi Minh City, from where (also from Vung Tau) speedboats go to the magical island of Kondao. Ferry tickets here (from 3000 rubles), buses here.
Kondao — in the heart
Will ferries run in February-March 2025? We don’t know. If not, planes (and helicopters) are patched up too.
Step 27. Ho Chi Minh City — Nha Trang — Da Nang
After (or instead of) We are rolling along the classic route. Planes cost 2000 rubles, buses/trains are a little cheaper.
Times
Two (1100 rubles)
Step 28. Da Nang — Seoul
It can be cheaper directly, but we have a goal and a mission. LET’S GO BACK TO THE MACAU CASINO AND WIN BACK THE SHEEPSKIN COAT!!!
March 9th
Step 29. Seoul — Shanghai — Moscow
It’s hard to believe, but the journey is ending. You’re in a sheepskin coat, it’s spring in Shanghai and Seoul. Happiness!
March 16
Step 30. Exhale!
4 (FOUR) The MONTHS OF WINTERING have come to an end. Now we will count countries, cities, islands and money!
Countries: China, Hong Kong (sorry, big brother), Macau (sorry, big brother), South Korea, Indonesia, Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei, Laos, Myanmar, Cambodia, Vietnam, Thailand. 14 it seems to have come out — check it out.
Points on the map:
This constellation will bring you good luck if you have some money.
123,000 rubles for a full set of 22 flights, 14 bus crossings, 2 trains and 9 ferries or boats. Although most likely, we lost count.
That seems to be it.
